Ana Kapodistria
Ana Kapodistria is a Greek-Canadian visual artist (b. 1986), embracing cameras to transform and capture the transient nature of her subjects. Beloved themes explore the limitations and unbounded nature of the human condition; revering the relationship to both natural and constructed realities. Through this, states of connection and transformation are celebrated and explored.
The selected works for sale as part of TOAF63 belong to the Earth Medley project (2009-): A collection of experimental film photographs documenting performative encounters with nature.
Landforms are charged by human presence, expressing a sensational synthesis with the natural world. The body moves with the landscape to transform into something new and otherworldly.
Ana additionally works with video, sculpture, kinetic art, and installation as media to support her concepts. She earned her M.F.A. from the University of Edinburgh and B.F.A. from the Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Image Arts.
Ana is currently available for commissions and collaborations.
