Natalie Ho is a visual artist based in both Toronto and Hong Kong, whose work is influenced by her background in scenic art, dance, and visual expression. A graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (BFA Honours, 2020), she further developed her practice through internships at the Royal Opera House and National Theatre in the UK.
Natalie's art combines symbolism with personal introspection, often exploring themes of gender, societal norms, and self-expression. A central focus of her work is the portrayal of women challenging conventions, celebrating individuality and resilience through intricate and vibrant compositions.
Her work has been exhibited widely, including at the Royal Blue Gallery (UK), Intersections at Cloverdale Mall, Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, FRESH at Next Generation Arts, and Empowering Faces at Clark Centre for the Arts. In 2023, she participated in New Vistas: Next Steps at Etobicoke Civic Centre and juried exhibitions such as We Are Resilient and IMPACT at Neilson Park Creative Centre.
As an Asian female artist, Natalie views art as a powerful tool for social commentary and empowerment, challenging stereotypes and celebrating the uniqueness of the individual. In her current series, Joy Amidst Pain, she delves into the complexities of joy and suffering, exploring themes of resilience and personal growth. Inspired by love languages and the Buddhist concept of "緣" (predestined affinity), her work reflects the profound interconnectedness of human experience, while further investigating identity, belonging, and the connections we share with others.
