Nadia Gurkova
As a contemporary oil painter I combine traditional methods like painting from life with modern tools. Direct interaction with the subject during small studies painted in my garden inspire and inform my bigger work.
In “Sunlight” series I focus on capturing a happy feeling of a bright summer day. To achieve this I set up my flowers in direct sunlight, choose a high key (lighter) palette and entanglement of blue shadows as a key compositional element.
