- This painting explores my experience of navigating loss through the domestic space of home. Through this painting, Departure, I show my fearful inner thoughts through uncomfortable moments preceding absence, which represents my lack of control over the transience of life. The fear of how short and unpredictable life can be is encapsulated in a home setting which allows emotional vulnerability. Figures are far enough out of reach, purposefully beyond the space where I could intervene.
