Description

This painting combines various animals, such as ducklings, roosters, fish, and crows, with human features to symbolize themes like patriarchy and femininity. As an immigrant in Newfoundland, I incorporate local animals to connect with my new environment and explore my identity. The work also includes floral patterns inspired by traditional carpets. I explore gender discrimination and censorship while reflecting on the connection between my cultural roots and my experiences in a new homeland.
