I was struck by the grandeur of this scene. The history in the rocks, and the enormity of the body of water inspired wonder, as the waves crashed on the shore blown by a ceaseless wind that, over time, had bent the trees into improbable shapes.
I felt a startling recognition because it reminded me of my childhood in the West of Ireland where the wind blows from the Atlantic and speeds the waves to crash on the shore, and bends the trees in that faraway place into improbable shapes.
