When Jill sketched this group, the body language seemed like a metaphor for the present day. We enjoy being amidst others, having our own thoughts, pastimes, and social media, yet we are reportedly lonelier than ever before. The joy for Jill in painting this was in eliminating barriers between the figures and symbolically drawing them close, as if they were one. Painted on gallery profile canvas, it's unframed with continued painting wrapped around the edges, wired, signed, and ready to hang.
