Description

“Celebration” comments on the irony of Koons’ "Tulips" which sold for millions of dollars, uses ‘high art’ or expensive materials, and a huge production team to make ‘low art’ or less valued objects. My detailed "painting by number" style reinterprets my original photograph and the humble bouquet of balloons both physically and in its meaning; and is intended to accomplish Koon's original concept of commenting on consumerism and demonstrating the value of so-called 'low art'.
