Description

Unframed. Acrylic on Canadian heritage-wood ironing board. Flower basket quilt-design. Awarded OAC, Visual Artists: Emerging Grant in 2011 for my painting of twelve ironing boards, up to sixty inches tall and similar in stature to the height of the women who worked on them. In a time when the division of labour was gendered, the women's ironing board was the equivalent to the men's workbench. My boards have been shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition, and shown at Blue Spiral 1, Asheville NC.
