Description

It is a meeting of two worlds: past and present, traditional and contemporary. The clothed figures represent the contemporary world coming to terms with its past, its history, represented here by the nude figures emerging from a multi-dimensional portal. The painting echoes the narrative of African history, reinforced by the unflattering images of colonial archives and their impact on collective memory. The idea is to stimulate reflection, a gaze and a narrative free of stereotypes.
