Description

'The Bearded One' is a defender/protector mask. it is paper mâché and canvas mask with wool, stones, semi-precious stones, twigs, a shell, beads and finished with glazed newsprint. It is mounted on an 18" x 18" painted and framed birchwood panel. The interior includes glazed fabric and a section of a hornet's nest honeycomb. it is a mask made for a particular ritual even though that ritual does not exist.
