Description

My old neighbor kept his poor dog chained up in the backyard, rarely cleaning the dog's space. The dog would howl through the night, lonely and in pain. I couldn't handle it, and would stay up nights on the verge of tears. I couldn't confront the dog's owner; he was violent and an alcoholic. So I called the police, animal services, local vets; no one helped. The best I could do for the dog was paint this. In painting it, I realized how much I also needed saving at that time in my life.
