Dancheong is a traditional Korean art form composed of intricate patterns that are often found on palaces and temples. Through the study and manipulation of dancheong motifs, Day's work strives to capture the complex pathways to cultural belonging in Canada. By obscuring the recognizably Korean imagery, Day creates barriers to fully understanding that mimic her experience working to reconnect with her heritage.
