Deepikah Bhardwaj
Deepikah(Born in 1985) is an Indian interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto, who graduated with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from OCAD University. With a background in Communication Design from Delhi, she works across media - algae, kombucha, plants, gelatine and found plastics to craft speculative narratives addressing ecology, gender and perception. Deepikah’s thesis show, “a place to fall apart” was held at Ignite Gallery in April 2024 and consisted of 8 speculative artworks that were collaborations with more than humans. Recipient of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship in 2023, Deepikah organized and participated in student group shows - “ Aliens aren’t Coming” (July 2023) and “Too Big To Fail” (April 2023). She has exhibited several projects like “Trial Room” and “SarvSatvik Rashtra” in Delhi and Bangalore before moving to Canada.
