Made This to be Heard

Sami Tsang, Artist

Sami Tsang is a Toronto-based Chinese Canadian artist working primarily in ceramics and mixed media. Her work is deeply personal and narrative-driven, exploring themes of identity, resilience, and cultural memory. Through a playful yet raw approach, she channels her experiences navigating dual cultures and generational stories. Sami has exhibited internationally in solo shows in cities like New York and Beijing and participated in prominent events such as NADA New York, Art Toronto, and the Chicago Expo Art Fair. Her work is included in collections such as the Gardiner Museum and the North Dakota Museum of Art. She has participated in solo artist residencies including the Tao Hua Tan International Artist Retreat and Harbourfront Centre, experiences that have deepened her creative process and global perspective.

Sweet and Salty

Marianne Katzman, Art Dealer, Art Consultant & Curator

Marianne Katzman is the owner and director of the Katzman Art Projects art gallery in Halifax, NS and previously Katzman Contemporary in Toronto, ON. Marianne represents a roster of more than 20 nationally and internationally recognized artists, managing their professional careers, art inventories and art sales. Since 2001, she served as an Art Dealer, Commercial Gallery Curator and Manager, as well as a Private and Corporate Art Consultant. Marianne taught Art Curation with The Magenta Foundation, focusing on providing unique opportunities to underserved communities. Marianne Katzman was also the co-founder and artistic director of KONTORT Productions, a multidisciplinary arts entity that focuses on ephemeral performances, projects, events, and experiences. KONTORT produced such projects as “A Wake For Lost Time” with the Elephants Collective, CHANNEL I & II with Brett Despotovich, and “Duration & Dialogue I & II,” a performance art festival.

Quiet Forms and Geometry

Raja Hanna, Art Collector, Film Maker & Dental Surgeon

Raja Hanna is a passionate art collector, a dental surgeon, and an established filmmaker. With a deep appreciation for visual culture, Raja holds a certificate in Art History from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). His multidisciplinary career reflects a unique blend of precision, creativity, and cultural insight, bridging the worlds of science, cinema, and the arts.

FLUX – In and Out of Focus

Liz Ikiriko, Curator

Liz Ikiriko is a Tkaronto/Toronto-based artist and curator. She is the Curator at Gallery TPW and co-founder alongside Toleen Touq, of wave~form~projects, a collective that studies intimate and relational curatorial practice. From a foundation in lens-based practice, she considers the history and current impact of visual culture on our psyche. As a lifelong learner and through engaged research she creates embodied experiences to support moments of presence and connection for and with her communities. She has previously held curatorial positions at the Art Museum, University of Toronto, the Art Gallery of York University and was a member of the curatorial committee of the 13th Edition of Bamako Encounters African Biennial of Photography in Mali.

Esse Arts + Opinions

Founded in Montréal in 1984, Esse arts + opinions is a bilingual contemporary art magazine covering a wide range of artistic practices, including visual arts, performing arts, digital arts and all forms of social, in situ or performative intervention. Each issue features a theme analyzed through critical texts and portfolios of works. The regular participation of new authors multiplies and decompartmentalizes points of view, giving the magazine an international and human face.

Fondée à Montréal en 1984, Esse arts + opinions est une revue d’art contemporain bilingue couvrant diverses pratiques artistiques incluant les arts visuels, les arts de la scène, les arts numériques et toutes formes d’interventions à caractère social, in situ ou performatif. Chaque numéro de la revue propose une thématique analysée à travers des textes critiques et des portfolios d’œuvres. La participation régulière de nouveaux auteurs et de nouvelles autrices permet de multiplier et de décloisonner les points de vue et confère au magazine un visage à la fois international et humain.

2025 Jurors Picks

Enjoy a preview of some stand-out artists of TOAF64 brought to you by our jurors.

TOAF’s 2025 Jury chose these artworks as their “Jurors’ Picks.” The jury was composed of Ed Pien, Tiana Roebuck, Callum Schuster, and Grace Zeppilli. Artists chosen as a Jurors’ Pick include Heritier Bilaka, Shu Chen Cheng, Neltje Green, Alex Hall, Bounthanh Inthavaly, Ellee SY Lee, and Julia Novakovic. They were chosen out of more than 1000+ applications.

Career Launchers

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair Career Launchers award for students from the Drawing & PaintingIllustrationPhotography and Material Art & Design programs.

Ten OCAD University artists and designers from the four programs will be featured in-person and online at Toronto Outdoor Art Fair as part of the TOAF Career Launchers. We congratulate the participants and look forward to exploring their artwork at the Fair!
