Vernacularities
Award-winning writer and artist Emelie Chhangur is a leading voice for experimental curatorial practice in Canada, known for her long-term collaborative projects performatively staged within and outside gallery contexts and for her decade-plus-long tenure at AGYU. She is currently Director/Curator of Agnes Etherington Art Centre, where she collaborates with the architectural practice of KPMB to envision new museum architectures through a community-engaged design process for Agnes Reimagined.
Textures of Time
Christine Kim works primarily in cut paper illustration. With a background in Fine Arts, her work revolves around themes of permeable boundaries that take the shape of fences, patterns and foliage. She lives and works in Toronto as an artist and arts educator.
Averted Air
Michael Nyarkoh is a Toronto based creative producer, working in publishing, fashion and culture. He is obsessed with reading magazines, drinking cortados and people watching. Michael currently works at Ace Hotel Toronto as the Community and Marketing Manager.
Vivid Mundanity
Born in 1983, Marie-Claude Marquis is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice touches upon visual arts, graphic design and installation. A holder of a certificate in Fine Arts and Media from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), she finds inspiration in vintage objects, pop culture, nostalgia, contemporary feminist perspectives and her own emotions which she expresses with colourful sensitivity. With whip-smart typographical interventions, the result of her work is often humorous, sometimes irreverent, but always keeps a focus on aesthetics.
Marquis has exhibited in contemporary art galleries across North America and Europe (Montreal, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Portland, Chicago, Miami, London, Hamburg). Her work has been featured in prestigious publications such as Vogue (Portugal), Jesus NOW (Abrams Books), It’s A Passion Thing Magazine (Austria), and Frankie Magazine (Australia) and can be found in numerous corporate, private and public collections locally and internationally, including the permanent collection of the Musée Pointe-à-Callière (Montreal).

Cathy Bisset Parkes is a Visual Arts Enthusiast, Contemporary Art Collector, Promoter and Fundraiser.She is a part of the AGO’s Curators Circle Committee, the Toronto Biennial of Art’s Advisory council, the Toronto Friends of Visual Arts Artist Prize Committee and is a part of the jury for the Toronto Artist Project.
Everyday Vibrations
C Magazine, founded in 1984, is an internationally-recognized platform dedicated to advancing significant ideas in contemporary art and criticism. The online platform and print magazine, published 3 times a year, facilitate pluralistic, interdisciplinary, imaginative, and historically-engaged conversations about art and its impact, with a focus on under-published practitioners residing in Canada and Canadians abroad.
Maandeeq Mohamed and Joy Xiang, C Magazine editors, have curated a collection of artwork from the 63rd Toronto Outdoor Art Fair that capture familiar moments and intimacy.
DEFINITION
Craft and design are expansive, from materials to the breadth and depth of skill. Our connection is through the objects that we hold and cherish. Connecting with Studio’s recent issue theme, the objects in this collection were chosen for their unique and playful approaches to everyday objects.

Artists chosen as a Jurors’ Pick include Emily Au, Stella Obedi, Negar Nakhai, Kale Vandenbroek, Sarah Young, Alexander Millington, and Curt Gaudon. They were chosen out of more than 1000+ applications.
OCAD Career Launchers
OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair Career Launchers award for students from the Drawing & Painting, Illustration, Photography and Material Art & Design programs. Ten OCAD University artists and designers from the four programs will be featured in-person and online at Toronto Outdoor Art Fair as part of the TOAF Career Launchers.
